Didn’t even know that there was a car show in town till I was on my way home from the Dickies store and saw a billboard advertising 35th Annual Rod and Custom Car Show at the Amon Carter Exhibit Hall in Fort Worth. Turns out it was going on that weekend so I called a buddy up to see if he wanted to go so we went the next morning. Saw some pretty cool cars. I like the rat rods the best. Would love to some day own an old 49 Merc painted flat black, chopped, slammed and long. Big ol’ chrome grill, spot lights, windshield visor and some red and white pin stripping. That’ll make your pants go crazy. But at this show there were to many trailer queens. Expensive, very shiny, and very little mileage on them. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of them are only driven from the garage and up into the trailer. While those are nice to look at, a car is meant to be driven! Get those damn things out there on the road and really enjoy all the work you put into it.
