I’m a Star Wars nerd. Have been since I was a little kid, even before I saw the films I guess cause the first one I saw in the theater was Return of the Jedi. But when I was younger I had a bunch of the toys and bed sheets and stuff. Actually still have an Empire Strikes Back pillow case. Obviously I don’t still sleep on it (much), but I still have it.
But since I don’t have any kids of my own to introduce Star Wars to, I’m having to teach Jackson, my nephew, all about the Star Wars universe. I’ve got him liking Boba Fett, which was one of my favorite characters.
So I heard on a Star Wars podcast last week that Target had dropped the price some on their Boba Fett helmets. Off to Target we went and of course they didn’t have any in stock. So we went to Walmart and they had two on the shelf. It was great to see Jacksons face light up with that big smile when he saw it. I took a picture of him standing there in the aisle with it.
We ended up stopping by my parents house after the store and I put the helmet together for him. It was a bugger to get out of the box, it was tied down in so many places. Then had to figure out how to get the fitted part right so that it sat on his head the right way. The helmet is way to big for him right now but he’ll grow into it. Hopefully it’ll last that long.
